Our Mission

Purpose-Driven.
Community-Centered.

"To honor the service of American veterans by providing safe, supportive, and community-centered housing that fosters dignity, healing, and long-term stability."
Safe Housing
Providing HUD NSPIRE-compliant, trauma-informed co-living homes where every veteran has a private, lockable room and full tenant rights.
Peer Community
Fostering the camaraderie and mutual support that mirrors the unit cohesion veterans experienced in service — a proven pathway to stability.
Long-Term Stability
Connecting residents with VA case managers, employment programs, and mental health services to support the transition to independent living.

Organizational Structure

A Dual-Entity Model Built for
Scale and Compliance

SASEKA operates through a strategic dual-entity structure — a for-profit LLC that owns and manages the properties, and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Foundation that unlocks federal grants, philanthropic funding, and VA program eligibility.

For-Profit
SASEKA Developments L.L.C.
Wyoming / Maryland
  • Real estate acquisition & ownership
  • Property management & renovation
  • SBA loans & CDFI debt financing
  • Investor returns & capital deployment
501(c)(3) Nonprofit
SASEKA Supportive Housing Foundation, Inc.
Maryland — Tax-Exempt Nonstock Corporation
  • VA Grant & Per Diem (GPD) applications
  • Home Depot Foundation grants
  • Bob Woodruff Foundation grants
  • HUD HOME & CDBG grant eligibility
  • Program management & resident services
  • Board of Directors governance
Why This Structure Works
The for-profit LLC owns the real estate assets and generates investor returns. The nonprofit Foundation unlocks federal and philanthropic grants that can cover up to 65–80% of capital costs — dramatically reducing the equity required per property and accelerating the pace of acquisition. This structure is the gold standard for mission-driven real estate organizations operating at the intersection of social impact and financial performance.

Our Impact

Building Homes.
Restoring Lives.

Veteran-First Design
Every property is renovated to HUD NSPIRE standards using trauma-informed design principles — private rooms, soft lighting, accessible bathrooms, and community spaces that feel like home, not a shelter.
Wraparound Services
We partner with VA case managers, SSVF grantees, peer support specialists, and employment programs to ensure every resident has access to the services they need to thrive.
Measurable Outcomes
We track and report on housing stability rates, length of stay, transitions to independent living, and resident satisfaction — ensuring accountability to our funders, partners, and the veterans we serve.
